We've been walking for 3 weeks now, and we have found great game, and lots of berries and nuts. There all so delicious, and we have been on the move like this for our whole lives. I love to be on the go with my family, and I don't think I -- "Maya!" called out someone. "Yes mother?" I said. My mother ran towards me. "Maya, your father has made a big decision. You like this area right? So does your father. He wants us to settle in here," she said. I replied, "Sure, we can stay for a couple days." "No, Maya. Your father wants us to stay here for the remainder of our lives," my mother said. I was so shocked. How could my father think of this? What am I going to do? "Um, mother. I think I need a little time to think about this," I said. My mother agreed.
I thought about this area. It was extremely beautiful, especially with the blue waters, and the amazingly terrific food we have been getting. The game stays here, and we don't have to be on the move anymore. However, I have travelled for my whole life. I don't know if I should stay, or move along with the rest of the tribe. But, if I go with my tribe, I'll never see my family again. I have made my decision. I am going to stay here. It is going to change a lot about the way we live, but I can't leave this amazing beauty of a land, with the game, berries, and nuts, too. I'll also never be able to be with my family, and I can't do that either. "Mother!" I called. "I'm going to stay with all of you!"
